Designing a Brat-Style Album Cover
Album covers in this style work because of restraint: one flat background color, one word or short title, centered, lowercase, with no other graphic elements competing for attention. That simplicity is exactly what makes it recognizable at thumbnail size on Spotify, Apple Music, or a TikTok sound page.
Square Format Matters
Streaming platforms display cover art as a perfect square — our generator exports at 1000×1000px by default, which scales cleanly down to the small thumbnail sizes used in playlists and now-playing screens without losing legibility.
"Deluxe Edition" and Variant Covers
Toggle on the corner tag option to recreate the look of a reissue or deluxe-edition variant cover — a small text label placed in the corner, distinct from the main title treatment.
FAQ
What size is the downloaded album cover?
1000×1000px by default — a standard square format accepted by streaming platforms and social media.
Can I use this for a real music release?
You can use the cover you create for your own independent release. If you're releasing music commercially, make sure any text or branding you add doesn't infringe on existing trademarks.
What's the difference between this and the homepage generator?
This page is tuned specifically for album-cover use — square export, title-focused layout, and quick templates like "Deluxe Edition." The homepage tool is the general-purpose version with more preset styles.
Is this affiliated with Charli XCX's actual album?
No. This is a fan-made tool inspired by the visual style of the Brat album, not an official product.
